There have been exciting developments in the AV/head-fi scene in Petaling Jaya.
Three dealers/distributors/speaker manufacturer in the SEA Park area have taken the initiative to organise a series of events this Saturday. It is most satisfying to note that these collaborations are taking place on the spur of the moment simply because someone (I am not sure who) suddenly had a brilliant idea.
Next Saturday was supposed to be the launch of MartinLogan’s Motion series of speakers at Stars Picker’s showroom. The media session was supposed to be from 12.30pm to 1.30pm while for the public, the launch event will last till 7pm.
Then things started to evolve — TechX and JW Speaker Lab started to collaborate with Stars Picker for a series of events.
Since all three are located in the SEA Park area, someone came up with the brilliant idea of calling the location Petaling Jaya’s ‘Bermuda Triangle of Audio’ where ‘You might never want to leave’. It is brilliant copywriting too.
So, on Saturday (June 14) you will have to start your audio adventure at TechX where you collect your passport card and first stamp. TechX is holding a HiFi Klinik where preloved components will be available for sale. These will be cleaned up before you take them home.
Then you head to Stars Picker to listen to the new MartinLogan speakers and get the second stamp.
The audio adventure ends at JW Speaker Lab where you will get to hear Joseph Wong’s speakers and get the last stamp. Hand the passport card to Joseph Wong for a chance to win premium audio gifts!
Well, what can I say? It’s a brilliant marketing idea!
